How to get google authenticator new phone backup android iPhone, app recovery lost codes.
You want to create a backup for two-factor authentication? We’ll show you how to do it.
this app helps protect your Google Account and other linked accounts with two-factor authentication. This increases security, because even if someone finds out your password, this person can not log in without the authenticator code. The downside: If your phone is lost, stolen or broken with the Authenticator app, you can’t access to your accounts. Therefore, it is important to think in advance about a backup.
Google authenticator get backup codes for printing
The easiest way to make a backup is use the backup provided by Google itself. You can simply print them out and keep them in a safe place. A disadvantage of this method is that you may not be able to access it for the move to new phone, if you do not have the printed slip. The advantage though is that you can use this method to regain access to your Google Account at any time. To do this, you’ll need to sign up for Google Two-Factor Authentication.
Step 1:
Scroll down a little bit on the above website. In the “Backup Codes” section, you must then click on the option “Show Codes“.
2nd step:
You can now download or print the list of codes. Swipe through on each one that you have used, because the backup codes can be used once. No matter if you download or print the codes as a file, never store that data with your Google Account user and password, whether digital or written!
Note: If you are in google authenticator lost backup codes status or you’ve used all codes, select “GET NEW CODES”. You’ll have a new list and the old set of backup codes become inactive.
Copy activation key
Once you activate Google Authenticator, an activation key will be notified to you. This will be communicated to you either as a QR code or, if you can not read QR image, as a number and letter combination. You can either save this code as a screenshot on another device or, in the case of the numeric and letter status, write it by hand on a piece of paper.
It is also important that you do not write down the access data for your Google Account and this data on the same sheet. This activation code allows you to activate the Google Authenticator new phone with same keys.
NOTE: You may be using Two Factor Authentication on sites other than Google (like binance, coinbace and etc.) , but you have forgotten to copy the activation key of that site or lost it. To recovery keys and save them, you can go to the settings, then disable and re-enable it, now you receive new code that you can keep it in the safe place.
